Ready to Authenticate Your Brand and Boost Email Engagement?
The Easiest Way for Companies to Show Their Logo in Email Inboxes
The Common Mark Certificate was made to be super simple for companies to use, making it easier than ever to build digital trust. Whether you’re a small business, growing brand, or established organisation—you can start displaying your logo with every email sent. No need for a registered trademark with these certificates.
The Common Mark Certificate is more affordable than the Verified Mark Certificate, making them perfect for businesses of all sizes. With a lower cost, it’s easier for any company to start sending out more recognisable emails.
It’s time to make your brand stand out. A Common Mark Certificate captures attention and drives engagement inside of the most competitive digital spaces for marketing: your subscribers’ inboxes.
Choose a Common Mark Certificate (CMC) for trademarks protected by prior use, or a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) for registered trademarks and government seals.
Verified Mark Certificates also enable a blue “authenticated” checkmark in Gmail. (For this product logo must be trademarked)
Marketing Benefits
- Watch your engagement soar. Your emails deserve more love. Get more eyes on what you send out (up to a 10% increase in engagement) after implementing CMC.
- Be consistent, be memorable. Build a strong brand identity with every send. Recipients will start to look forward to your emails. Get them to click yours first.
- More authentic, more trust. When customers see your verified logo, they instantly associate it with a brand they trust.
- Make your mark in the inbox. Email inboxes are cluttered, and messages can easily get lost in the shuffle. CMCs help yours get consistently opened.
- Make a good impression. No more generic avatars or initials. Recipients will see your unique and professional brand logo.
IT & Security Benefits
- Prove your protection. Recipients will see a visual indicator that you’re dedicated to implementing the highest levels of email security via DMARC.
- Fight against phishing. Thanks to encryption and digital signatures, CMCs can’t be forged. In combination with DMARC, they make it much harder for hackers to succeed with identity-focused attacks.
- Mandatory DMARC for safer emails. DMARC gives IT departments a higher level of visibility and control over the messages being sent by the organisation.
- Better detection, fewer surprises. With DMARC enforcement, it’s much easier to identify how often attackers target your organisation and the methods they’re using.
- Reliability and consistency. DMARC and CMCs not only prevent phishing attempts but also ensure that your genuine emails land in inboxes.
BIMI/mark certificates are currently supported by these providers:
- Google/Gmail (enhanced support, blue checkmark)
- Apple (Digitally certified label in message details)

- Fastmail.
- Cloudmark.
- La Poste.

Getting Started
There are a few prerequisites that must be met before an organisation can be issued a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC), which are outlined below.
There’s no need to worry, though – when you choose The ID Security for your VMC, you’ll receive a dedicated Implementation Specialist to help expedite the validation process and guide you every step of the way.
Before you can start using your CMC, you’ll need to:
Have your logo ready to go? It’s easier than ever to get a Common Mark Certificate (CMC):
- Be DMARC compliant. The DMARC record for your domain must be set to either “p=quarantine” or “p=reject” if you aren’t sure about your domain.
- Have a logo that can be associated with your brand through prior use or be using a modified trademark. Prior use is defined as having used the logo for at least 12 months before the Mark verification date, verifiable on a domain you control.Note, if you’re using a trademarked logo in its original form, we suggest you check out Verified Mark Certificates!
- Format your logo file correctly. It must be square and in the SVG image file format.
- Purchase your CMC. The certificate authority will then validate your organization and logo.
- Your logo will automatically display in Gmail email clients.
The chart below will indicate how many VMCs you will need based on the number of domains
